A part of Lake Maggiore is in Switzerland. And we were no more than few kms away from the border. After flying over the Alps when coming from Zurich to Milan... I now am able to see them again.

On the train to Como

We took the regionale train from Garibaldi to Como. it took around an hour to make the trip. This was the cheaper and slower train than the Eurocity..... but many times cheaper.

Flag performers at Palio del Baradello

The Palio del Baradello is a medieval re-enactment that recalls Barbarossa's visit to his allies in Como after defeating the city of Milan during a battle in 1159.

There are historic dances, music, a village with actors in period costumes, games, shows and tournaments where several nearby boroughs compete for the pallium, a hand-painted silk drape.

this is an atrium in politechnica, bovisa... all the workshops are arranged around it... 10,000 sq m of it. there are a lot of potraits of important italian designers around it.

fiera milano

Thats where we went for Macef 2008 at the milano fiera. it is on the outskirts of milano and has been designed by massimilano fuksas. This one was built to supplement the older fair location closer to the centre of milan...
and that is Valentina, our teacher here.
